Converting a mountain bike with a race face aeffect crank and a press in BB ISIS spline type. Mounted the 32T on the 104 and reinstalled crank.
I have 6MM from the tooth to the chainstay and trying to eliminate space and improve chain line.
I was told by LBS that you can't use spacers on a press in BB on non drive side to move the crank 2mm over to get drive side closer to chain stay. The crank does have one spacer (dust ring) on drive side.
Option two was to use 2mm spacers between crank arm and new chain ring to get is closer. LBS no go since the chain ring is no longer sitting on the inside ledge of the crank.
What are my options? I have a new 1x crank but I'm trying to do it on the cheap.
