Mallorca Mallorca Mallorca Race Day thread!
Mallorca seems to be the triathlon hotspot today with both IM Mallorca and challenge Mallorca pro races today!
So far very impressed with Cam wurf only dropping 35 seconds to leader at Aussie exit in the swim! (He did fall back to the bigger group after as he was In no man's land)

Cam Wurf is racing an IM today? That’s disappointing, was hoping he’d make next weekend’s race interesting.

Cam is still on the list for IMCA and the Mallorca commentator just confirmed their doubt how he was gonna do both ...
Maybe if he gets the slot for Kona today, maybe he wont go til IMCA ?

Copenhagen was for 2021 WC, Cam had already qualified and so Lionel got the spot in 2nd.

Cam is not qualified for 2022 yet and looks like 2 slots in this race. Probably why he’s doing it. Punch the ticket then can race Cali (if he does it) with nothing to lose.

gotcha, thanks. the 2021 / 2022 seasons are so confusing right now!

Watching it on Facebook while I do my 100 mile trainer ride…yuck.

Embarrassing moment for the commentators as they just mistakenly ranted about an “age grouper” trying to have his “moment of fame” by sticking with the leader. Turns out he’s actually a pro and is a lap behind. Crow is probably less palatable early in the morning.

Cam was already qualified for Kona 2021 by the time he was doing Copenhagen. He is trying to get a slot for Kona 2022

Wurf has raced Back to Back Ironmans several times. This would not be new for him.

Ruth < 30s behind Norden now. Cadence is winning as it normally does at this distance!

General commentary on the commentary team. Dede and Lovato are not a good pairing. When they're split up and paired with others who are younger/tied into the sport they do much better. Although Dede is still competing as a pro at 50, so she knows what's going on a bit more. But I don't think their chemistry is there overall.
