Mallorca 70.3 vs Barcelona 70.3 how do they compare
Quote | Reply
Has anyone done both Mallorca 70.3 and Barcelona 70.3 or even Marbella 70.3?

I'm interetsed in how the courses compare ? It looks like there is more climbing on the Barca course but I hear Mallorca has a lot of tech descents, is that right?
Are hey similar or woul done coirse be generally quicker than the others?
Thanks

Mallorca only has one longish climb and one proper technical descent. Rest is rolling/ mostly flat. Beautiful route in a spectacular and friendly spot.

Yep Mallorca climb is quite long, approx 5% average gradient. Descent is similar, technical, but nothing to be afraid of. Just make sure you have the right gears, every time I have done it is amazing to see a bunch of riders on top quality bikes literally stuck at the bottom of the hill because they haven't test ridden the course and are pushing a big front gear and not enough on the rear. 52/36 or similar with an 11-28 will be perfect for most. But the rest of the course is flat and fast. Good surface throughout.

If you want to enter Mallorca, be aware it is hugely popular and usually sells out in just a few hours.
