Disappointing. I wanted to see how he'd finish.

I think it is disappointing as well. If this is his last time at Kona, wouldn't he at least want to finish? I mean I understand saving himself if he was racing again this year, but this is it for him right?

Due to being a past champion, he still has an easier time table to validate each year for Kona. So he could just come back and ride off into the sunset next time as well (even if this year was his last real chance).

WHAT??? Why would they care. Although a few years a go a friend of mine that runs marathons wanted to ensure he was ahead of Oprah - Could this be the same?

They are past Champions - the other guy you mentioned is having "issues". I guess to beat a guy that may not play fair is all they had left to prove.

Dude was in lead pack out of the swim; saw him take off on the bike then never saw him come back into town. Not sure what happened?!
