MTB Race Suggestion
First, let me say I don’t expect many, if any, races to actually happen this year.... But with that said, I would assume putting a few bucks in a RDs pocket now would only help.

So basically I’m looking for an interesting and difficult mountain bike race that requires some serious bike fitness to finish. One catch is that it would have to be sometime in the fall, ideally in October.

I tried googling myself but didn’t really find anything that looked all that interesting. Bonus points if it’s within reasonable driving distance of Salt Lake City.... but I’m happy to book a flight elsewhere if it’s not.

Hmm what do you define as interesting?
Also what do you mean that you didn't find any, where are you looking?
I see tons of races without even looking, they just pop up on my facebook.

Ok, just for kicks, here are a couple of good ones on the east coast that will require some good fitness and climbing legs
