Long Bay Half Tri, SC- anyone have the scoop?
Just noticed that this is a new Half (old Sprint for a few years) in Murrell's Inlet SC. Murrell's Inlet has some really great (seafood and otherwise) restaurants on the Marsh Walk and this race is right beside a campground (plus for me) in Huntington Beach State Park. Does anyone either plan to do this race or have any additional information about it (beyond what is on the website)? Anyone do the sprint version in the past few years that can report on it?

Wowwww this looks great! I’m in Charleston and am doing Augusta 70.3 on 9/29, but am very interested in this now as it’s so close!

I probably wouldn’t do much before that race, but it could catch me in a good place coming off of Augusta. I’m all for race experience.

I wonder what the winning time would be or the range? It looks like a small race - I haven’t ever done a small 70.3 like that. I hope they close off I-17 for the race. If so, the bike should be pretty nice / fast.

A close and critical look at the course map suggests you're not on Highway 17, but rather the bikeway next to it. By bikeway, I mean it's asphalt but it's a multi-use path/glorified sidewalk.

Did anyone end up doing this race? Looks like only 9 people finished the half and around 50 in the sprint. Was thinking about doing this next year with my mother-in-law living close by.

I live in the area but wasn't able to attend it. I heard from a friend who was there that it seemed somewhat unorganized, possibly not as many volunteers to help out. They did the sprint and mentioned that the course was confusing at times. It has always been a very small race, I keep saying I'm going to check it out since it's basically a mile from me but have always had other races scheduled.
