Liquid coconut oil (MCT oil) as chain lube?
I was cleaning black bike grease off my hands with liquid coconut oil (weird, but works amazingly well) when I got the idea to drip some on my bike chain as a lube. It seems to work really well - lubes and sheds at the same time. Has anybody else ever tried this or have any thoughts on it?

No evidence one way or the other, but it seems that there are more than a few similarities between coconut oil and paraffin, especially with the way coconut oil solidifies at room temps.

But it's not gonna be an inexpensive lube ...

It'll probably work at least as good as WD-40 or motor oil.
