Lingering stress reaction pain
Not looking for medical advice (seeing an ortho) - just trying to find others that have had similar issue and found things that helped them. This Fall I developed pain in my medial shin area after a run. After 4 weeks without improvement went to an orthopedic doctor and was diagnosed w a stress reaction. Took another 5 weeks off running though was allowed to cross train on the indoor trainer. Pain was still lingering so I went back to doctor. MRI showed a bit of lingering inflammation but not much at all. Was told I could try to start a back to running program. Have been starting very slow - no more than 30 min of running at a reasonable pace. It generally hurts when I run though not so much I need to atop - sort of an annoyance. But it gets pretty sore after I cool down. So it has now been about 10 plus weeks. Warming up before I run and stretching after. Wondering if others w similar injuries have found anything to help get you back to running pain free. Thanks
