Lifespan of a high tech swimskin
So I come from the world of competitive swimming where the tech suits that cost 3-500 each are only good for a handful of swims before they start to stretch out, loose the water repellancy, etc. Wondering if theses tri swimskins have the same limited lifespan since it seems like they share a lot of the characteristics with swimming techsuits.

Not a direct answer, but my Roka Viper X lost the elasticity around the legs almost immediately

I have had one for 3 years and is still very tight. I only use it a few times a season so my guess is the more you use it the more it will stretch but I could be wrong. The swimskin I have is the Xterra Valor suit if it makes any difference. I have also seen no difference is how they repel water from the first use to last year when I used it. I will plug my sale but if you need one and are around 5'10-6ft and 155-165ish I have a slightly used one that I am looking to get rid of...

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing that since they aren't built to fit into the requirements/limitations set forth by FINA they can be a little more robust and also since we're not looking for a .05 second edge that would make the difference in a pool race they might be built to last a little while longer. I'm not in the market currently but figure I eventually will end up getting one for a warm water race, just want to know if I'm getting a few seasons out of a $300 purchase.
