Very interesting Idea...this could be a HUGE hit or massive failure...obviously I'm hoping for the former

A clean build, nice. (But, of course, still needs a speedpack; it could help you get rid of your elegant zip ties. Smile)

So is the rear wheel a hed disc, or hed jet deep rim wheel with a taped cover?

Wow, that's a good taping job. How do you get the electrical tape to stay so smooth as you go fully around the cover?

too hard to describe in words.

Maybe I will videotape it next time I do it.

not hard though, I am not skilled in the ways of fine motor skills.

No need to do that, but maybe can you post a close up pic of approx 1/4 ("1/4 of the pie") of your cover taped on (either side), centering the photo on the tape job?

Do you use just standard, plain electrical tape? I find that it doesn't stay stuck in place for a very long time.

3M brand electrical tape.

clean the surfaces before applying.

*do no stretch the tape as you apply it*

there is a sort of natural desire to stretch the tape real taught as you apply, don't. Just gently slide your finger along the perimiter of the wheel to press the tape down.

no bottle cage on the frame?
so is it a jet 90 front and rear?
and no low profile TRP-ish brakes? i was sure you'd have one of those or the center-pull from the Shiv.
did you carry a flat kit?

50/34 chainrings, 11-28 casette. full bike specs are in my savageman race report, see my sig.

flat kit was taped under the seat, removed before the picture.

hed jet 90s front and rear.

haven't given fancy brake calipers a try yet. would be perhaps risky at savageman anyway.

I can not stress this enough.

Cost me 3 minutes, 10th place, and ALMOST a spot at the Hyvee race.

P.s. what's your handlebar tape situation like?
