Lessons from the manure pile
Personalities and pissing contests aside, there is a take home
message from USAT's current self-inflicted miseries. This is an entity
striving to become a world class organization yet they elect their
Board using small town election practices, in effect stepping directly
into the manure pile. They could have "cleaned their shoes" by invalidating
the flawed election as was recommended by the by the legal opinions they
solicited. Instead, they tracked aforementioned fecal material though
the organization and the stench has wafted down the hall the USOC. The USOC
has responded with a resounding vote of no confidence and does not trust the
current leadership to clean up their own mess. By "recommending" that only essential
board business be conducted until these issues are resolved and by "recommending"
that the plan for any resolution be decided by an independent panel,
the USOC has put a "Closed Until Further Notice" sign on USAT's front door.

So I guess the next time USAT decides to play in the feces, hopefully they
will realize that calling it flowers will not make the stink go away. If fact,
the smell gets worse when the heat comes on and the heat is definitely on.
Since it looks like my USAT dues will be going to pay legal fees, I suppose
I should be fair and send matching funds to the petitioners legal fund.
