I am sure many of you slowtwitchers are aware of Lawson Craddock's Le Tour this summer. He made headlines for his accomplishments on and off the bike. Specifically, riding 20.5 stages with a broken scapula and raising $300,000 for the Alkek Velodrome. Alkek is where Lawson got his start racing bikes and one year ago today Hurricane Harvey flooded the entire region and Alkek was not spared. Lawson decided to donate $100 for each stage he finished and challenged others to join in and the results are nothing short of staggering! And yes, he made it all the way to Paris!!! He did this in part to help the track rebuild and further junior development.

Tonight Lawson will be at Alkek and there will a big party to celebrate his success. Food trucks, Karbach Beer (FREE!!!), music and of course bike racing. Lots of fun to be had.
