I did mine the day before. Only took me 10 hours longer.

Possibly also the "most time over 60mph in a single ride" record as well? Incredibly fast/straight descent. It adds up.

That's pretty impressive. My longest ride was on the trainer at 8h 30min. 17hrs seems insane.

Ya man! Slowed me down because it was a busy hill and needed 243 reps because this is the flattest place on earth. Upsides to adversity is that is that you get an article in the local newspaper.

Ouch. Appears as though he Everesting Record might have to go the way of the Hour Record: measured courses with only a few in the world.

I think I'd rather spend 17hrs outside on a bike than 8hrs inside on a trainer.

Really - what is your longest ride?

x2. My indoor limit is 2 hours. I've done ~30 hours outside.

Great job. What is length and height of that climb?

Nicely done! I’ve been giving the Everesting challenge a lot of thought; I have a good hill that starts right near my house that is about a kilometer in length, and doing the math using Ride With GPS (I don’t have a Strava) came up with approximately 216 reps in order to do it. So convenient where I could use my house for breaks, just need to get more mileage in before trying it. Ideally I’d like to try it on a longer climb (I really like Dev’s suggestion of Whiteface base to tollhouse = ~26 reps) but it’s good to hear that it has been done on shorter climbs/very high number of reps, which I think makes for a good mental as well as physical challenge. Congrats again!

I'm not sure reading the rules would have helped here (like it would have with Buchmann). The Strava segment was inaccurate. I think anyone going forward will verify the segment vs. some other source of data. But I give Morton mostly a pass, vs. Buchmann who clearly screwed it up.
Re: Lachlan Morton Takes Everesting Record [trail]

actually this mistake was on the side of the hill climb referee so to speak, the Strava segment was inaccurate but Lachlan did send in the info from Strava in advance and was told it was good to go, it only came out when some outsiders and a cycling mag looked at it and felt there was something off.... also Lachlan himself on the day of thought there was something a bit off as he commented regarding the Garmin updating " apparently there's some data lag with the elevation, I'll leave that up to the experts"... the altitude on his Garmin was right and told him it was short ( his Garmin 1030 only credited him with 8,509m) but he had set out based upon the Strava.. so not really an easy one to pin on Lachlan, I am pretty sure he was wiped near the end so doing complex problem solving may not have been easy. see a more detailed explanation here: https://cyclingmagazine.ca/...t-not-be-legitimate/

That's roughly what I guesstimated. To picture it, I've had to find a similar slope and length near me. (My area is relatively hilly -- my flat 5K run route from my house has me climbing 38m.)
Wow. Just wow. Mental strength.
That has to be among the shortest hills for an Everest.

Not sure what the "official" time is on this one but he just went out and did it again just a week later!

Do it! My climb was busy with restaurants so I was chatting to people the entire time which helped to monotony even though it slowed me down a lot.
