Kona and the Prince of Bahrain Circus
Some statistics.

The prince is bringing an entourage of 62 people. (I have a pretty good source) Including macca. Which will in turn bring Sunny Garcia out to play (see insta post) https://www.instagram.com/p/BoeGC8NlVDC/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

On race day, the Prince will have security with him on the course. I'm told in the form or 2 motorbikes. I do wonder if they will have guns.

During the run he will have 2 personal security officers with him.

you can bet your last dollar, it's going to be a circus.

They should test him. Would he allow it?

Surprised about the extensive security.

Are they afraid of errant volcano flows?

When he did FL in 2013 they had a motorcade on the bike (3 SUVs as well as people on bikes with him), and two scooters out on the run course. I didn't see any weapons. With everything else going on leading up to the race the circus was almost unnoticeable. I'd like to think they wouldn't allow his people on the course at Kona though. Going to give Sunny a follow now

Did he have security following him on the course at IMTX this year, or did he feel pretty comfortable riding in a peloton all by himself?

I was a spectator in Florida while my wife was racing. His escorts were Florida state troopers. They were packing heat. On the first lap of the run, he had an SUV escort which soon learned it was too crowded and swapped for moto cops for the second lap.
His entourage all drive around in range rovers, even the 400 meters from the hotel to the start line.
Look out for a spectacle. He did go 10:30 or somewhere close do that.

I remember reading something about him KQing at IM Texas in a “CEO” division or something like that? I don’t think it was a straight up KQ but I can’t recall the exact circumstances.

So, there is a CEO Division now with separate KQing??? I guess those guys just don't have the time to train enough to KQ the old fashioned way. :)

In fairness to WTC every year at NYC Marathon with celebrity racers they do same. When i barely finished NYC 2014 Wozniak (tennis star) past by me heading into central park. She had 2 NYCPD motos, and 4 bodyguard runners.

it’s that time of year and I’ve heard rumors that this sad excuse of a man will be coming to Hawaii for the Iron Man triathlon in Kona October 13th so all my family and friends keep an eye out for him and make him feel unwelcome in our islands👊🏽 @maccanow I am forever scarred from picking up my friend from the Kona police station after what you did to her and having to carry her to the car because she couldn’t walk and take her to the hospital for tests and I am still in disbelief that the Kona police let you leave Hawaii without questioning but hopefully they get their act together and pick your sorry ass up and put you in jail where you belong with the rest of the monsters and you better hope I don’t find you first.

Thanks, I was wondering what this was about since I've never heard of things that this appears to be describing. Like what actually happened.

As someone posted above, it was definitely a military slot at Bahrain 70.3. Superfrog also has military slots.

So who’s going to stand up and ask at the athlete briefing what Ironman is planning to do keep his entourage from affecting other people’s race in the form of safety and drafting? And also ask how is Ironman going to control the prince of Bahrain having an unfair advantage over his competitors with said escorts??

Did he have an escort at Texas this year? There are pic's of him in the pack of bikes with no escort. I think everyone is getting ahead of themselves...
