Iowned an older Talon but last fall discovered a cracked seat and chainstay so T-shirt relegated to the trainer. Due to Army connected injuries, I can’t get low (standard aero position) but by using aero bars and a 70mm Profile riser kit can average 1+ mph faster than on my road bike on the drops.

The new Talon has a higher head tube than the old one so can probably get away with a standard elbow pads. It fits ok (just a quick check, not a full fitting yet), but before buying wondered if there any others I should consider.

As far as planned events, a few UMCA centuries/200 mile events and a full Tri (probably Redman), so it needs to be a somewhat comfortable ride.
