49yo cycling legend Jeannie Longo wins her 53rd national title, winning the ITT...the youngsters must be crying...she gets her slot for the Olympics, 16yrs after her first silver medal in Barcelona and 23 years after her first road world title!

Truly amazing!

If this were anyone but Longo, I'd say that says a lot about the state of cycling in France...but of any cyclist in history, she is one of the 2-3 who could pull something like this off.

When we talk about cycling immortals (Merckx, Anquetil, etc.)...Longo stands toe-to-toe with any of them. If it can be won...she has won it...usually MANY times over!
