Ironman Results Improvements

What can Ironman do to improve the Ironman Results Page?

Around 2007,2008,2009 if you looked for results of Ironman Kona, you would be able to see the different splits from each segment of the race. For example there would be a split at the first turn around on the bike and another at Hawi, and maybe a couple of other on the course. On the run you would have the split at the u turn on Alli Drive, the top of Palani and the uturn at the energy Lab.

These splits help analyze the race a lot better than just the total time of each athlete, and help out in training especially when you have not done a race before. Ironman has all these splits but they choose not to post them once the race is over. Why?

Does anybody know where you can get them? Maybe they are posted somewhere.

Seriously you will be basing your training on others race splits? You must be trolling!

Everyone knows how accurate splits are... someone is running 5:30mi pace, then next markers 6:05, then 5:45 and again 6:15... and course elevation didn’t change neither the athlete pace... markers are known to be misplaced with wrong distance shown on timing results.

What also a split doesn’t tell you is if the riders was in a pack, neither the weather condition for that section...

If you want more valuable information regarding splits and have a sense of a bike course. Go on strava some athletes post their full ride with power and all the real data that you can analyze to a certain level. Again, you will not have weather conditions, neither race information surrounding this athlete (riding alone) cda and so on.

Finally, basing your racing strategy to hit a specific number at a marker, it’s a recipe for disaster!
