Funny - if you didn't know the sport - and saw any one of these guys in a coffee shop - you would not think they are capable of what they do. Probably just think they are tan and skinny haha

Six German men in lycra and latex meet on a tropical island. You won't BELIEVE what happens next.

I walked into a coffee shop & this skinny guy was there--didn't look dorky, just wicked fast. It was Tyler Hamilton. Said HI & he stopped & we chatted. He was quite nice actually. Hard not to know how elite someone is if you know what a fast guy looks like.

Always thought there was something really pure about winning from the bike, like Stadler or Hellreigel. No talk of drafting legal, riding in packs. Out there on your own & being hunted on the run.

Look at the results for 2005, 3rd out of water? Faris, 2nd off the bike? Faris 1st at the end of the run? Class performance, though always felt Reid lost that race more than Farris won. Reid finally cracked that day for good.
