Since no one else has posted one...let's fire it up folks.

Looks delightful this AM. Lieto, Rhodes and MJ providing the commentary (hopefully they get that feedback sorted out). Dig it!

What's the over/under on the number of folks that blame their crappy race on swallowing too much water/poop during the swim?

I'm suurprised to see live coverage, even with the buzz. Think I'll ride the trainer today.

I wish NBC would put this buzzing over Mary Carillo's human interest pieces.

ST Logic needs to be applied to that statement.

If a AGer wearing a wetsuit makes that comment, than the comment is just an worthless excuse for not training properly as they are not swimming 50K a week in several Masters classes.

But if it is ST BoyToy like Rapp making that comment, than the comment is very valid with the entire race should have been cancelled until Andrew Messick personally filtered the water through a strainer.

Just read the old record was 42:17 for the swim. ST's Pratt did a 43:18 - pretty good for an AGer

For just a bit of perspective on Pro swim times in the Hudson, Sarah Piampiano and Jacqui Gorden both swam 1:02:XX at the most recent Lake Placid and today Sarah swam a 47:14 while Jacqui went 45:33.

The new fastest (easiest) swim on the North American Ironman circuit just also happens to be going for $900/entrant. I bet the demand for next years race just went through the roof!

Once again a billiant business strategy for the WTC. (...even though it makes me want to vomit).

For what it's worth, I don't know where they're getting their info as Germany having the record, but the fastest IM swim times were from IM China '09. I know Hennig swam 40-flat & believe there were a few out of the water ahead of him.

wow Zach did 43:18 - and usually swims 1-flat at Placid, so the current for the AG'ers was much stronger than for the pros.

It was also wetsuit for AG & non-wetsuit for pros.

The women pros swam about 17 minutes faster today than in Placid too.
