How many watts saved
Attached is a picture of the front end on my 2008 P3 with 3T Pro Mistral cockpit and exposed cables. Hydration is a Profile Design Aerodrink. What’s the rough guess of how many watts I would save with a Tririg Alpha X and Di2 with cables hidden. I would also change hydration setups.

Click on "choose file", select the file from your computer. Then click the blue box "Upload attachment".

If the file is too big then you need to shrink it and repeat.

ZERO!!!

Do you think the antenna on a car makes it drain more fuel at 50 mph.
Or if you drive with your arm out the window the engine over heats.

You are moving 15-30 mph.

Get better at cycling.

Technique will always last longer then energy production. Improve biomechanics, improve performance.

That's a good bike. Alpha X bar might be more comfortable, but I don't know about watt saved. Cables not so much. I rather get a disc if you don't have one. That'll make a huge difference.

As good a guess as any would be to add up the frontal area savings in non-airfoil shapes by making the switch. Use cm^2. If your CdA is .25m^2 now, that's 2,500cm^2 total. Your answer will then be relative to current drag... not "watts" which is a BS way to refer to aero drag. Everyone believes they know what it means but no one does...

I am more than decent at cycling. It’s swimming i suck at. Just trying to figure out if the aero savings are worth the $$.

There's no real way to answer that question....

But, here's some data from tririg, from aero testing Alpha X. Just eyeballing, your setup looks sorta similar to the Zipp Vuka. So, if you go with that comparison, its ~75-100g of drag at their test speed. Of course, you have the exposed cables, which will add "something."

Anyway, that seems like a ballpark, possibly an upper bound.
