We make then tough up in Canada. Despite the long cold winters we do OK in the sport of Triathlon A few years ago, the city of Ottawa - the second coldest Capital city in the world, sent 17 age-group athletes to IMH that year( all qualifiers). I think that was the record that year for the city with the most people in the race!

It's about double A -AA - Apparel and Attitude.

See I do ok as long as i'm riding/running/swimming, but I'm miserable when i'm stationary in even mildly coldish weather (below forty F). I used to live in Pittsburgh, which is by no means as cold as the places folks are talking about here, but I survived there just fine. I don't know why I'm such a pansy now.

I lived north of 55 when I was growing up... Halloween sucks when you have to wear a snowsuit under your costume.

When 20 deg F feels warm enough to go for a run in shorts and a Tshirt. Went something like 33 days without cracking 0 deg F in Minot ND a few years ago. 20 F, sunny, no wind feels pretty darn balmy after that...

Come on Steve,

It's no wonder why Ottawa ranks high in anything...it's the energy released from burning billions of our tax dollars!

i don't know how YOU do it! I'm cold at anything below 24C and miserable under 20C. I'm not sure we've ever seen a temperature below 11C though I think I'd die at that temp.

I always wonder when I read these threads, why do you live in such a place esp if you train? I personally hate the cold but I work outside, the cold isn't bad if your out in it everyday, its not such a shock to the body I think.
