Great pic!

I would go with all weather tires with some spikes maybe. Ice axe in your jersey back pocket?

Not a good day to have to use a credit card (or other plastic card) as an ice scraper.

There's about as many people in that pic as there were people to see me finish the Lake Geneva race.

I think Record10 gets up that way from time to time. Can't wait until he sees this!

Geneva, as in Geneva Switzerland. Called Lac de Geneve on the Swiss side and Lac Leman on the French side.
This is not Wisconsin. And Lake Geneva (the copycat) is in NY state no?

Switzerland? Who the heck cares about switzerland? Geez, we barely care about Wisconsin.

I will say that is a classic photo.

is this for real??? I mean my parents told me it was cold over there, but like that? I looked at this thread yesterday and then checked the Swiss newspapers for a pic like this and figured you gotta be talking about WI or so...unreal....in Switzerland??

Not this winter...winter 04-05.

Actually, what's interesting is that the rain froze, but not the lake. So, it's cold, but not that cold. With the temperatures you have in the winter in WI, the lake would be frozen as well.

There is a display with the history of it, the geopgraphy, dimensions, etc in Evian. Nice place to stop while riding around the lake (nice ride to do).

[reply]Actually, what's interesting is that the rain froze, but not the lake. So, it's cold, but not that cold. [/replyIt was not the rain. Strong winds and waves 'sprayed' the water on the shore where it froze.
It must be a extremly cold winter that Lac Leman will freeze. It is a big and deep lake.

But only the last days. There was not much snow until March when you expect first signs of spring :(
