Help with headset size on older Softrides ?
Not found in search, and no response yet from Softride.....

Can anyone confirm whether the Softride Powerwing/Classic frame will take a 1-1/8 inch headset and fork? I know they are not sold with an oversize headset, but if I was having one built up would I have the option of 1-inch or 1-1/8th?

[Are there certain headtubes from the major players...Cervelo,Softride,Litespeed... that will not allow an oversized headset?----I guess I mistakenly assumed the rider always had a choice within the past few years.]

Thanks,

Keith

Old Softride's are 1-inch only. Unless you go custom, you never have an option - the headset size is dictated by the headtube that the frame manufacturer uses.

Old Softride road - standard 1-inch

Old Cervelo - standard 1-inch

New Cervelo - integrated 1-inch

Litespeed - varies by year and model of bike

Thanks, John.

I did confirm that the Softride Rocket frames take a 1-1/8th headset.

Keith,

John is correct. All the classic beam bikes take a 1" headset & steer tube. While all the Rocket bikes use an 1-1/8".
