Helmet Weight
I suffer from neck pain while in aero. I've discovered that using a lighter helmet helps tremendously. My research into helmet weights generated the following list. Am I missing any viable candidates? The Met Manta appears to be the hands down winner, but they're difficult to find in the U.S. (the ones I can find on-line are several years old). Any suggestions are welcome, thanks.

Met Manta Aero 230 g
Giro Synthe 312 g
Oakley Aro5 336 g
Bell Z20 336 g
Trek Specter 396 g

Not sure about availability, but I just saw an article about a sub 200g helmet from POC.

Limar makes some really lightweight lids. Their Ultralight+ is 175g for a medium.

For those in the US, the helmet is heavier since it needs to meet the stricter CPSC impact standard. Still on the light side for a MIPS helmet, but 50g heavier than the EU version.

"As a result of all of this effort, claimed weights are genuinely impressive, with a medium CE-approved sample supposedly tipping the scales at just 190 g. The CPSC-approved version is expectedly heavier at 240 g, while the Australian edition falls in between at 230 g. "

This model isn't a MIPS helmet. Doesn't have their Spin rotational protection either. They dropped that stuff to get the weight down.

That's actually not that light then (at least the US version). I have a 10yo Specialized Propero II in the garage that I just weighed: 254g (M) and it was like $80 (so a mid/low range helmet) and only 14g heavier than the POC.

My regular helmet for the past few years was a Limar Ultralight. Claims to be the lightest road helmet on the market.

I recently bought a new helmet - the Garneau Course and it is noticeably heavier in the hand, and on the head. At least for the first ride it was and then since then I have not noticed it at all.

On top of that, do these two things and see they help. They worked for me.

1. Trap workout.

2. Raise your aero bars like flying mantis position. Don't have to be high, but higher than what you are used to.
