Heartrate

When I push my training to far or when I'm getting sick I can't get my heartrate to go up into the normal training range. I seem to be breathing harder, I even try going faster but the heartrate will not rise. Anyone else find this?????? After rest ( 1-2 days off) it's back to normal

Oh yeah. A heartrate that won't budge is a good indicator of overtraining - and an indication to go back to bed. Or spin easy.

Training for my first IM, my coach had me doing 2 bike interval wkts every tues and thurs. Sometimes on Thurs my hr wouldn't get past L1. I should have gotten off the bike, but I was a super motivated rookie who didn't know better. Arrived on the starting line way overtrained and had a crappy race. Now I listen to my body and hr.
