So...I posted a video of one of the best runs of the season (I initially wrote THE best run, but fred_h would bring up Bolt and he'd be right)...

And just like the other threads about Gebre, there is nothing??

Is that all the interest we have in running on the forum? What if I said I heard that next year, he'll be riding a P4C??

Those runners are fantastic to watch. Their running form always looks like they aren't going hard at all and could jack it up any time they want. So smooth and effortless.

very fine.
I was glued to the TV for the whole of the Olympic marathon.. never thought I'd be a sports fan, but I can watch those guys run all day.
My football/baseball watching co-workers think I am very strange, but they're used to me by now..

Can you imagine how much faster he would be if he hung out here and discovered that he would be faster if:

1. he put on a little midrift bulge to get a better aerodymanic shape
2. he wore a skin-tight triathlon suit with proper dimples.
3. he wore an aero helmet, we all know the slower you go the better the advantage. Sub 2 hours here we come.

I'm guessing he would be a lot faster if he used powercranks.

He looks like he's out on a steady training run. And he's popping off 14:30 5k's, one after the other, after the other....

Well, he does have a car about 50 yards in front of him, with a huge timer on the roof, for almost the entire race. Plus, he's got the pace-setters for the first 30k! :)

The helmet idea probably won't work due to heat.
The slower you go the more time you save rule of thumb may not apply to speeds this slow

But the form fitting clothing might indeed be worth a few seconds. Anyone care to do the math?
