Have you tried adjusting the screen sensitivity controls? My relationship with the 820 started off poorly but, after about 10 minutes of adjusting controls and testing, it worked great. It's not a touch screen phone -- the early 820's acted like that, but were too sensitive to be used in the rain. (Big rain drops triggered them.) Mine works about perfectly now -- just the way I want it -- but I had to work with the controls to get it there.
