One wierd thing is that it was announced by UCI rather than leaked. Isn't that a violation of WADA rules, I thought that they were supposed to be kept secret until the B sample is tested.

Man, it makes me wonder just how many, if any are clean?
It takes so much of the enjoyment out of the sport of cycling for me to see all this.

Has there ever been a positive of an Ironman?

It's great. They should blow the whistle on all the dopers no matter how big.

Whatever he's masking isn't helping him much!

Anyway, I guess we'll know the outcome of this by November 2013. Can't wait!

This implicates Andy as well.

Which means Lance Armstrong won the 2009 Tour de France!!!!

B sample hasn't been tested and he hasn't had a chance to depute the claim. This hardly makes him an official doper.

I have no love for FS but lets tone it down until he's convicted.

I think it's worth saying that the B sample hasn't been tested yet, but yeah,, Puerto verification was my first thought, too.

This is all getting ridiculous.

It's time for the athletic world to have a discussion and to face the facts:

1. It's hard to accept, especially for strict moralists, but doping is never going to end. Not that THAT makes it right, but...

2. Doping isn't murder, or rape, even if we consider it serious.

3. We can detect miniscule quantities now. Quantities that could never benefit the athlete. Do with that info what you will.

4. For every drug we detect, new ones are being made that we can't yet detect.

5. Soon enough whole new classes of "artificialization" will make current drugs look quaint: Gene manipulation, hormone control via external stimuli, psychological manipulation, and finally the whole category of artificial implants of all kinds, from new bodyparts likes legs and arms and metal bones to new organs and new cells and new intracellular components. Imagine if you could manipulate the number of mitochondria within cells, or convert muscle tissue into different types.

This is a game that won't end. Bodies will be manipulated forever. I have NO answer to this, but that doesn't mean we should ignore it. Better to face it now. We are going to have to accept that NO one will be natural, eventually. Getting yourself artificial parts/drugs/genes will be as cheap and common as going to get your hair cut now, and everyone, athlete or not, will do it, and we'll think it perfectly normal.

And...what then?

USADA's worst nightmare? If he beats them and this goes that way, I think Tygart may go postal...

Slow down guys, didn't Hope Solo have the same problem recently? PMS meds or something? Contained a banned substance.

Let's give Frandy the benefit of the doubt.

PMS meds would at least make sense in this case.

Given how long these cases drag on, how long do we have to "tone it down?"

Don't really see how this implicates Andy. My brother once took steroids to try to get bigger. I didn't. Both my brothers have ear rings... surely I do as well right? Nope.

If Andy wanted to post on Slowtwitch like you just did, Frank would have to turn the computer on and tell him what to write.

In all seriousness, what is with the crappy dopers? Frank has been non-existent this season. Did he dope out of desperation, or has he been doing it since Puerto and it just isn't working?
