Frame weights
What are bike manufacturers trying to hide, or hide from?
Few are willing to publish frame weights anymore.

Cervélo P-series, PX ??
Pinarello Bolide TR(+) ??
Quintana Roo PR5 ??
Wilier Turbine Frameset ??

Parlee TTIR Frame only 1.1-1.2 kg
Cube Aerium C:68 Frameset + Cockpit 2,5 kg
Ceepo Shadow Frameset + Fork 2.33 kg + 500g

Please fill in the blanks and add to the list.

This is probably too hide the fact that a disc brake bike weighs nearly 1kg more than its rim brake sibling.

If you check Scott's site, the lightest foil is nearly 7.5 kilos, when some years ago they had the same bike at less than the UCI limit for half the price.

As bikes have more and more integrated features it gets harder to do apples-to-apples comparisons, and mfgs are probably afraid of unflattering comparisons.

An example from a few years back would be integrated seat masts, which would increase the "frame" weight but reduce the overall bike weight.

Also, tri bikes are pigs compared to their roadie brethren so if mfgs can omit this w/o hurting sales they will.

Tarriffs are also a factor here.

I updated the Parlee TTiR info to reflect their response: "The published weight on TTiR is for the frame only."

That's a pretty light frame, yes?

I really appreciate that a manufacturer stands behind their product in that they aren't afraid of informing (potential) customers about it.
