I think you answered your own question. The safety banter isn’t really a thing. And, personally, I find it interesting that you would choose butyl/carbon brake track option for “safety” over a latex/aluminum brake track option. I care about my safety far more than a few watts and I personally opt for the latter.
I wasn't aware there was debate on this. Not saying there isn't, just saying when I did my ST search on this before posting, I found discussion on the tubes. Nothing jumped out on the brakes. I didn't make a conscious decision to buy carbon for safety.
