Yeah, your friend should drive 35 miles south to Brooklyn and see Jonathan Blyer at ACME Bicycle Co. As a Los Resident I really understand how 35 miles in a densely populated area can mean 40min or it can mean 4 hours. Jonthan is worth the latter.

Eric at bicycle world in Mount kisko. 20min drive. He is awesome.

Definitely the best $200 I spent on bike "equipment".

+1 on Jonathan Blyer at ACME in Brooklyn. I'm in central CT, and the drive (and parking) were a small price to pay in order to get a great fit.

Jonathan at ACME is awesome. I would highly recommend, but his Brooklyn location means it's a full day experience from Greenwich CT. I've had two fittings with him over the years.

Lori at Pacific SBR in Stamford is excellent as well. She used to be at Signature in Greenwich. She and Jonathan have similar styles and fittings with both of them have come out within millimeters of each other... From Greenwich I wouldn't hesitate to try Lori, in fact, I just had a fitting with her and bought a bike at Pacific, quite pleased with both.

Jan at Benidorm in Canton, CT. Drive up route 95 to 8 from Greenwich - test bike on nearby Litchfield hills olympic triathlon bike course.
