Outspokin in Clearwater. They are not FIST, but use Retul so a lot of people instantly dismiss them b/c it's not ST approved. Wish I could remember the guys name, but he has been fitting for 20+ years. I see a ton a really solid looking tt fits on locals in addition to knowing 4 local triathletes who rave about their bike fits. Have been here since '95 for a point of reference. The Trek shops are fine folks, but they don't know squat about tt fits sadly. There are zero bike shops in Tampa proper I would rec for tt fits. I did hear a shop in St. Pete grabbed a Guru Fit Bike in the last year or so, but know nothing of them or their fitter and his experience.

Should be just as good for a road bike fit?

I would *think*, but don't know anyone personally who has had a roadie fit with them. They are such a top flite shop if I ever needed a fit I would let them do it. They are the last of a dying breed in the old style mentality bike shops, but ultra high tech in their approach.

The guy at Outspokin in Clearwater is named Park. They use the Retul fitting system and he does a great job.

St Pete Bike and Fitness on 4th street. They are using retul and the guru dynamic fit system. Paul Williams is there fit guy and is very knowledgable and does a great job!

Go see Park at Outspokin. Retul is the way to go.

Ooops to the OP. I have to defer to St. Pete Bike and Fitness now since Paul is indeed the guy that did my friends fits. Had no idea he had left Outspokin(still a great shop, but a fit is only as good as the guy doing it).

Park fitted me at oustpokin and i highly recomend it. 1:02 40k bike split down to 59:20 after the fit. granted i was very poorly positioned initialy. Fit still feels good, comfortably agressive and powerful. i know he has fitted several of the top triathletes in the tampa bay area.

Well it is for a road bike fit right now, no tri bike yet. Anyone use either of them for that? Assuming it will still be effective.

Paul is great with either a road bike or tri bike fit.

You are doing the right thing by looking at the fitter and not the fit tool. Paul is a stud fitter period. I'm pretty well set in my bike positions for road and tt, but oh would I have ever paid through the nose to have a skilled fitter with a Guru when I was banging my head.

Let us know how it goes when all is said and done.....good luck and enjoy the process!

I have been fitted to my bike at the various shops mentioned on this post and I think the best bike fitter in the area is Dave at Kona Multisport (formally the Ironman Store) in Wesley Chapel. Knows his stuff.

I wanted to dust off this old thread. Got a buddy in St. Pete who is looking to get fitted on his bike. Anyone got any recommendations?

Paul did my bike fit after I found him on ST and was very pleased. He's moved closer to Clearwater and has set up a new shop.
