Fall Running Challenge Sep 14-Nov 14
With a bunch of fall marathons coming up, Kona, IMFlorida, GFT, Arizona etc....how about a 2 month running challenge, mileage based....going from Sep 14 to Nov 14th. That would be 9 weeks...approximately 4 miles per day gets you 250 miles, ~ 5 miles per day gets you 300 miles, 6 miles per day gets you ...(you get the potential overtraining picture)

Any interest....if so, I can set it up. All you freaks wanting to run like crazy this winter, might be an excuse to gradually build your running base for next season.

This works for me. And, I can use it as a safe ramp up to be able to do the 100/100 challenge, which will dovetail nicely with the RnR 1/2 in January. :D

I started my own 3 days ago. 3 miles per day, increasing gradually over the fall.

So I'm in.

Doesn't work for me: last race of the season 4th October, I'm not starting a running challenge before (I have done 2 or 3 before). After that, yes why not ;-)

OK, looks like there is reasonable interest. I'll put something up on Monday. This will also help me stay honest as it looks like I have 3 weeks of business travel in October with Clearwater in Nov. When I feel unmotivated and wanting to sleep in and not train in a strange city on jet lag, knowing there are others virtually training together will keep me going. I plan to do a half marathon next weekend (www.armyrun.ca) and maybe two 10ks in the stretch and end on Nov 14th with a half marathon in Clearwater (half marathon for wet runners).

OK, we'll start this thing up on Monday. Should give me some motivation to hit the track in Shenzhen smog (but the track by the hotel is really nice) in October!

Oh, this is exactly what I needed to motivate me for a run focus!

I don't know why these 'challenges' motivate me, but it works.

Why did I put this challenge up....I can barely walk after the Demi Esprit Half Ironman yesterday in Montreal.

OK, details will be up tomorrow. Make sure you are set up in the ST online training log. Maybe we can get Rappstar to sign up and follow along on his run training for Arizona???

Sure there's interest. I'm still keeping your 2007/ 2008 version of the 100 runs / 100 days challenge alive. Today is day 652 in a row.
