Fair race at IMWC?

Until last year, it was a matter of hours since the IMWC had concluded and pictures with large bike groups would be published everywhere. This year I did not see such a thing: can we assume that the drafting problem in Kona was fixed?

Not much to discuss because, yeah, it worked. You can now put the nail in the coffin of mass starts because you can't support mass starts and say - with any integrity - that you are against drafting.

As a first time in Kona this year I was expecting a lot of drafting, but genuinely saw very little and what i did see was the mostly the same guy and several athletes were all giving him shit for it. Certainly in comparison to some of the big European races i've done where it is endemic (Barcelona, Italy, Mallorca etc), given the nature of the course (fast and windy) Kona was a very pleasing change.

Long live the wave swim start.
