I'm in the NW Burbs of Chicago and know a handful of people who have trained under him. Always heard good things and he was very supportive of his athletes. I read about this crash, but didn't know any of the details last month. What caught my attention in the article was he intentionally drove into oncoming traffic. Makes you wonder what was going on mentally these past few weeks, months, years...whatever for that to be what took place.
