Experience with Challenge Roth travel package?
I was lucky enough to grab a slot during the normal registration scramble last week, and I heard that logistically the race is annoying due to the lack of hotels/etc in Roth. I am considering using one of the companies that does package deals with hotel and transport- does anyone have positive/negative experiences with a particular company?

I'm in the same boat - have registered - but have yet to figure out logistics...if you get any good info - please feel free to pass it on. This is my first time racing in Roth!

Not that hard...did the race last year. Found an amazing apartment on VRBO in Nuremberg (huge, 3 bedroom, great neighborhood - less than $150/night). Rented a car but used the train a lot.(you can bring bikes on the train)...less than 30min to Roth (and a lot less traffic) - less than 1/2 mile walk on bike path from expo/race finish. It was nice having the car to get around day before the race ...but if you're staying in Nuremberg ...I highly suggest using the train to go back and forth to Roth...a lot less traffic headaches.

Family...RENT BIKES! My husband had an awesome day sherpa -ing ...took the train - he was able to get to every main race point (swim, solar hill, run canal, finish stadium) by bike - very easily - met tons of people - hung out in the beer garden. No way you can do that with a car.
