Existential doubt power lineal or no lineal

Existential doubt
w / total distance speed

Which is more efficient or convenient in a career plan.
Wind day against and in favor
Go stable in the watts Example

255w wind in favor 43km hour
255w wind against 35km hour
result 39km hour 255w means

or non-linear

210w wind in favor 41km hour
270w wind against 38km hour

result 39 km hour
240w medium
now 15 w of savings.

they are numbers that I take from my training, which can be wrong, they are examples.
But layers I'm wrong.

255 are 3.7 w in my case.
This is for the 70.3 of Buenos Aires, that there is always wind in the bike path

you who have a lot of experience that is better?
my ftp is 318w

very very thanks

The best way to answer this question is with Best Bike Split. You can put in your specific course and weather, your specific bike, your specific power...and it will give you a step-by-step optimize plan. www.bestbikesplit.com

The general answer is that pushing a little harder into the wind, and up hills (and going slightly easier with a tailwind or downhill) will net you more time-gain than an absolutely flat power profile. So, your 270/210 example is likely to workout better than a steady 255.

I don't see any evidence of "wind" in your power profile. Did you create a paid account or just a free account? I have a paid account, and I don't know what features are different between paid and free. In my paid account I can see the "wind", yaw angles, and changes in my target power depending on head/tail/cross wind around a course.

Were you given the option to get "real" weather forecast for your event?

That must be the flattest course I've ever seen!!!

hi
is free
realtime weather ok
it's a flat circuit
with some retomes
but flat
it seems that it has the wind and its changes
but there is no difference with the payment
tomorrow I will try to switch to the premium account
you say it will be worth it?

Do you use the plans for a career they offer?
they are valid ?

ver very thanks

But, I believe the portion in bold above is using incorrect logic. Assuming the course is a simple out-and-back with tailwind on the way out and a headwind on the way back, your average speed will not actually be 39 kph. Your are going to spend less time on the tailwind out segment (because you are travelling at 43 kph) than you will on the headwind return segment. Therefore, your average speed will not simply be the middle (39 kph) between 43 and 39. It would be lower, because the extra time spent riding into the headwind.

+1 on Best Bike Split. It works.

Thanks I have been wondering about this for a while.
