Most , if not all, videos you see and/ or recommendations has you standing up in a flexed position at the hips. What is benefit of this vs doing it on a bench laying on your stomach , like vasa swim trainer ?

It is more convenient than dragging a bench around with you everywhere....
That, and you're more likely to slide around on the bench as you pull with the bands.
