Does steerer tube behind BTA bottle affect aerodynamics?
I recently took my tri bike into the shop to get a few issues fixed. I also said I'd like the steerer tube cut down as low as possible (my fit is totally dialled in so no issues there), but ended up changing my mind. It's about 3 or 4cm behind my BTA bottle. My question is whether or not that can affect aerodynamics even if it's within such close proximity to the bottle?

Cheers as always!

No reason the cut it down, Cervelo guys did a test with a roll of quarters taped to the steerer tube and with a person on the bike the difference was negligible. Search the forums he posted about it a few years ago. That said, from a looks standpoint I’d cut it! ;)

Thanks for the reply. I've had a root around in the search function, but couldn't find anything! Good to know though!
