Dishing out slaps
I've heard some quite good sayings relating to beating/being beaten by people in races in my time on this site. Being a non-American, I can't help feeling there are others in common usage by my US cousins I could be making use of. Can anyone provide a saying interchangeable with, 'Handing or having your ass handed to you' or 'being beaten or beating someone like a red-headed stepchild'?

I like to keep things fresh and feel I may be approaching my limit on the use of these two phrases. Help me look klevir.

I like "beat him like a rented mule."

Heard that on a hockey broadcast describing a Mario Lemieux scoring shot.

If I think of more, I'll post 'em.

Let me try some...

Oldie but a goodie: "I had to open up a can of 'Whoop-Ass!'" or "...then he decided to open up a can of 'Whoop-Ass' on me."

When taking someone or being taken outside of your aerobic comfort zone: "I put him (He put me) in a 'World of Hurt'!"

This is one I use frequently: "I got dropped like a bag o' hammers."

I can't remember where I got the 'bag o' hammers' from. One could easily replace 'bag o' hammers' with 'sack o'sh!t' or anything heavy and/or undesirable. I like using 'bag o' hammers' because who the hell carries a bag of hammers anyway??

There's a movie I watch over and over again on HBO...Not sure what it's called, but it's in England in the time of Knights and such, and it's about a "commoner" competing in contests where you're supposed to be a full Knight....Anyhow, the knight wannabe uses the following phrase when he "hands the pr...ck real knight his ass" in the end:

"You have been measured, you have been weighed, you have been defeated"

I think it was "You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting."

Either way - good quote

i've been pimp-slapped, beaten like a drum, hammered into submission, dropped like second period French and had my lungs torn out

i've also used someone like a Kleenex, taken his/her will to live, beaten someone like an unfaithful dog, and salted the earth where he grew his vegetables.

i must now return to work as I'm busier than a cranberry salesman on Thanksgiving and can't keep fu$%ing around on this website!

Yeah, you're right...Hey, I can't even remember the name of the movie and I must have watched it at least a dozen times...Not much chance I'd get the quote exactly right.

Then, there's the ever popular "schooling" remarks:

"Get out your Big Chief tablet and a #2 pencil, 'cause you're going to school"
"They call him the Bus Driver, 'cause he took everyone to school"
"I hope the recess bell rings soon, 'cause you're getting schooled"

Other "non-school":

"whipped like a tub o' butter"
"dropped faster than sh*t through a goose"

I love saying about someone who talks a lot..."He (or she) could talk the balls off a pool table!"

A Knight's Tale is the movie.

My favorite movie line was about someone who thought very highly of themselves "thinks he can eat flour and shit cupcakes".

I heard this one the other night watching Da' Bears getting embarrassed on MNF

"They suck just like a porn queen on a casting couch" I'm not sure if that is a reference to quality or quantity of sucking. I also heard the following:

"they look like a deer on a city street" "They fell out of the ugly tree...and hit every branch on the way down" "are you gonna do something, or just keep playing with it?" and my favorite "Why don't you just go home, eat a good meal, and grow some balls" (that can get a strong reaction sometimes).

"Maybe you should just run faster..." TM

it's not exactly a slap but...

paraphrasing chris rock on mtv (in reference to 50cent): "got more shots to the face than jenna jameson"

I understand most of the sayings that have come up but I'm a bit puzzled about 'being beaten or beating someone like a red-headed stepchild'.
Is it just a generic anti-ginger comment or something more?

I never understood why "like Sex on a stick" (English expression) meant something was good either. Just sounds painful to me.

After a long tough effort, I like to use the phrase "that's going to leave a mark", one of the guys that I train with likes " I put him in the hurt locker", and for a really really tough effort, I like to say "that did'nt leave a mark, that left a frickin dent".
