Dirty T - exciting startlist, who wins?
Talbot is putting together a pro-only race in Tucson. Info available on his website. Startlists are quite exciting IMHO.

Will you be watching if it’s live streamed on YouTube? And who wins this?

We wont be posting publicly the location and times of the event. Each athlete will be responsible for their own timing. As we are trying to limit the interaction of humans. :) The athletes will be separated with a time trial start on the bike and run to avoid them being close. :)

There is a Tucson sprint and intermediate distance tri that hasn't been canceled yet. I was hoping the pros would all show up there. lol. It's March 28th...the Oro Valley Triathlon. I go every year...it would be awesome to have a legit pro race.

Good chance we'll be there :) we chose Texas to get away from this field haha, but it should be a blast!

Quite bike heavy, especially from a skills perspective which will definitely be a little rough for me, but I'll give it my best.

If it were shorter I’d go Morgan Pearson, but I think Kanute/ Rudy VB/ Lionel. I don’t know Rudy’s pool skills, but Kanute would seem to gain an advantage over most on that list in the pool based on his background. I think he’s so solid on the bike and run that I don’t see others having a strong enough combo to catch up.

Obviously there are plenty of possible variables!

Downhill on Lemon. With traffic in both directions.

1) the downhill of Lemmon is one of the easiest sustained downhills in existence
2) it's not an "enduro" race, i am sure the downhill time is not included because that would not be in lionel's favor
3) if there is traffic in both directions, if you're going downhill, traffic is very rarely an issue, especially on a weekday, which brings me to:
4) there are a huge number of reasons why this specific thing should not happen on a weekend
5) or on mt lemmon

btw - it is definitely illegal to fly a drone in the coronado national forest, especially without any permits or the correct licensing

I agree on all your points. But there are still some sketchy areas, most above windy pt. It said uphill/downhill so I assumed they are racing back downhill.

Hopefully it’s more based on uphill.

What about the women field? I am not familiar with every women athlete but I know Heather Jackson lives in the area and she certainly knows Mt Lemmon quite well - is that a big advantage? Also she had a strong finish to 2019. Same for Findlay who raced well in Daytona.

Okay that's actually good to know. Never ridden there before but I kind of just assumed it was like most of the mountain descents in my area. And from what I can tell, the downhill is definitely included in the time.

Might need to find a front derailleur somewhere though, I'm guessing my 56t front won't cut it.

Would be a travesty if this DID NOT involve MT Lemmon TT. For the love of God.

Maybe have the start at the 4 way 🛑 stop.

Kitt Peak would be better. And not that joke of a segment Lionel did to claim the "fastest time" up Kitt Peak.

Hey guys just giving you an update. We are doing our best to pull off this race but still playing it by ear. The last 48 hours has been pretty crazy for our country. We might end up limiting the field to 5 local males and females out of the respect and safety. I will be driving to Arizona from Oklahoma just to make this thing happen.

I will continue to give you guys updates as this thing unfolds.
