Dimond and Bike Trainers
Thinking about moving to Dimond bike and wondered what current owners do for indoor training. Do you use rollers? Do you use road bike on indoor trainer? Do you use old tri bike on trainer? I have Wahoo Kickr and my understanding is could not use Dimond on it. Any insights appreciated. Thanks.

I'm in a similar situation. Have a Dimond coming in a few weeks. I can't decide whether to keep my old Tri bike or just ride the roadie on the kickr. I'm leaning towards keeping the tri bike but haven't completely decided.

Have another tri bike (with the exact same fit) set up on the Kickr. Works great and no issues crossing back/forth.

Old tri bike on the Kickr. Dimond outside. I ride inside during the week and outside on the weekend. The old bike is always on the trainer and ready to go.

Why can't a Dimond bike be used on a normal trainer?

Voids the warranty to use on regular, rear-axle clamping trainer.

Lack of a seat tube means that if you fix the rear axle, there is significantly more stress at the BB joint than there is out on the road.

Thanks, I didn't realize any bikes had such restrictions.

I don't have a Dimond, but this was to be my suggestion as well. I use it on my TT bike, road bike, cx bike, and mtb. I travel a lot too, and this is super easy to travel with.

Has Dimond themselves OK'd this wouldn't void the warranty? Interested in the answer. Thanks.

From the Dimond website: Use of the Dimond frame on a rear-axle clamping trainer will void the warranty.

Since the Omnium is not a rear-axle clamping trainer, you can use it.

Yeah but how would they ever know? You could just state that you merely pushed too many watts for the integrity of their bottom bracket, and it failed.

Testing can prove it. Put the bike on a trainer, break the carbon, and analyze results. Compare to the customers bike. Pretty easy to prove.

They sell this trainer and the similar Minoura hybrid roller trainer which is more heavy-duty.

"Insideride "rollers with the optional fork stand. It makes a great stationary trainer. You still get the front to back dampening effect exlusive to emotion rollers that help alot with saddle comfort . And you can use them as full on rollers when you feel like it.
They pop up on ebay from time to time between $4-5 bucks.

Right. Because the type of person who spends over six grand on a frame is the same type of person who is going to be content with rollers. Seems legit.

I agree. Buying a bike I can't ride on my Kickr is something I don't like. I guess I could keep my old bike on the Kickr like some people do who own Dimonds and Ventums.

I have my old road bike permanently set up on a Wahoo KICKR, and I have the InsideRide rollers with a fork stand (if/when I ride the Dimond indoors). InsideRide is very cool but probably not entirely necessary.

I was incorrect about the Ventum. Jimmy told me you can use it on a trainer.

I have been on a dimond for a couple of years now and love it. I have a set of cycle ops rollers with resistance bar and a fork stand. I ride twice a week on the rollers and once on the weekend outside. While i have a handful of bikes, i find myself on my dimond most of the time.

I don't use any tri bike on a trainer so I have continued to use one of my road bikes that is 24/7 attached to my trainer.
