Difference between Dura Ace Cranks
I posted this question in a reply to a thread below, but I think it has gotten buried. Shimano.com lists the Dura Ace 7700 model crank as the "Triathlon" model. TriBriGuy replied that the 7701 is the tri model crank. Is the difference between the two only the stock chainrings they come with, or is there actually a difference in the spiders? Basically my question is if I want to run big chainring combos (42/55 or 44/56) for 650c wheels will either crankarm work?

Thanks

Sweet

yes...either will work, the tri crank just comes with those big unnecessary chainrings :)

The crankarms are the same. The model number just refers to the set of chainrings that come with them. I got the standard set as part of a kit for my Saber and ordered a 42/54 at the same time. No dramas.
