There was a pretty long discussion on this topic a while back, and a fair bit of data was presented.

Definitely worth using the search function to find it...

I'd like to see that. Any more details I could use in the search? Unfortunately, a search for "warm up" lists about every fourth thread on ST...

I'd like to see the thread also.

I find the search function next to useless on this forum as you end up having to go through every post on the whole forum. Even the advanced function is hopeless.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'll do some of the recommended reading.

One question - how long does a warm up last for - in other words, how long before the start can I stop and still get the benefits. We usually line up for 5 minutes in the start line, and so would be stopping about 5 minutes prior to that to take off arm warmers and vest and stuff.

This has been hashed over more than once on here, of course, but this thread:

has some good stuff on it if I remember correctly.

Thanks for this thread first. What about your bike trail? Have you ever thought about cycling in the gravel area or have you ever rode a gravel bike? I love cycling in the gravel area, it gives me more pleasure than a mountain riding. I am riding 5-7 K.M per day. Although I haven't bought a gravel bike yet? I am continuing on my road bike.

I know a gravel bike will perfect for me to ride in this area. I am planning to buy a gravel bike on black Friday. I got a site called BikeJar with gravel bike reviews.

Thanks for your thread here

Obree style yo....hour attempt twice in two days. Second successful try? Out of the car, on the bike, break record.

Remember, if your skinsuit fits worth a damn, that’ll likely take you a good while to squeeze into. There’s some warmup!

Google the Team Sky warm up. About 30 minutes before your start, you get on the bike, do the protocol to get the muscles firing, get to the start and go. Follows the KISS principles so it’s good enough for me.

So, have some time trials coming up.

I'm not from a cycling background.

Time trials range from shortish 10milers to longer 25 milers.

Have got plenty of time to do a warm up.

What's the recommendation?
