Critique my position
Hello
I am riding a 56cm cervelo p5-3 with alpha one bars (uci legal position). I am 182cm, 66kg. I am a novice to time trialing and would greatly appreciate your advice on my position. Thanks

Your position should be closer to the bar at the pub, sinking some beers and parmas and putting some meat on that frame... ;)

Not much else I can add. What saddle are you on and how do you like it? Are you comfortable through the shoulders?

my fellow aussie! looks ok to me....i wonder what ur hands look like though next to each other vs stacked prayng mantis style. Only testing would obviously tease out any differences, but still

The shoulders felt fine for the fifteen minutes I was on the bike. Only recently changed the position but I should be able to have a big ride on it tomorrow. I'm on a specialised power saddle purely because it was left over from my old road bike.

I'm guessing you're one fast puppy at that size and weight. Kudos to hitting the right gene pool. As far as fit goes that looks really good for a start. Do you have the specs as far as pad X/Y, saddle height, saddle setback, and crank length? Looks like you're running something on the long side for cranks ≥170mm.

Are you hands truly comfortable stacked like that? I'd love to see some shots from the front, but it looks like you're shrugging quite well based off of your shoulders. Only thing I see is that you look a little cramped at the top of the stroke. I have your leg extension just under 140Âş (don't trust this 100% as the camera is too far back), which is fine but also means you could come up if all we were looking at is fit angles.

Anyhow, the only thing, I would change if it were me is the saddle height. I would come up some (~5mm) and see how it feels. But if that current saddle height feels good and makes great power I wouldn't touch a thing.

I agree that the saddle height could be a bit higher with no ill effects, also perhaps a bit forward. Remember your position on the trainer will have to adapt to road conditions, bad pavement, rogue kangaroos and the necessity of looking up occasionally. Good luck!
