I thought Wend used to sell colored wax. But, looking at their website not currently seeing any.

aerocoach treatment used to have a blue tint.
If you're doing your own paraffin just dump some candle dye into the pot :D

I thought about it, but wondered if the dye would have a hugely detrimental effect on the lubrication characteristics of the wax.

that would be an interesting test.
Analine is what most dye is made of (from my google fu) but I am not good enough at science to guess at whether it would impede friction gains.

Intesresting. I wouldn't imagine it affects friction, but just a guess.
Although the real question is...what colour would you want it? Match the bike?
I have always loved the white frosty/flakey look from Ice Friction, but this mostly comes from the white PTFE (teflon) powder applied over the top of the wax. You can get coloured PTFE powder but it seems like it's quite specialty and on request only.

I have a black speed concept, but I'd love to have my race chain in a bright neon color. I'm sure there are people who would tell me how much of a fred I'd be, but that's ok.

I just toss my red Babybel Cheese wax wrappers in with my food grade paraffin, and the resulting melted red wax exceeds anything else I have ever tried!

Wend has some pretty awful results relative to other waxes in one of the high profile Lube tests a few years back:
Zero Friction Cycling
Who knows if that had anything to do with the colors, but it certainly kept me away from even considering them.

I have a full collection of Wend chain waxes in various colors. I bought a bunch on sale and never used any of it.
