Cleaning waxed drivetrain
I'm doing my first race of the season this coming weekend (70.3 CT) and recently switched my drivetrain to being waxed with a Premier Bike chain. I have a bottle of Squirt, but haven't used any yet, as the chain seemed good go go. There is around a 50% chance of rain in the forecast for the race. In the past when things got wet I'd do a cleaning w/Park Tools chain cleaner and re-lubing with Rock 'n Roll, but what is the protocol for wax? Thanks!

Molten speedwax has a detailed step by step process for what they recommend. I've waxed and rewaxed 3 different chains by following their instructions and its pretty simple after a few rounds. I ordered the solvents off amazon. I imagine its relatively similar for other wax treatments.

I guess my question isn't what to do before the race, but what to do if it's a rainy day? Is there anything other than wipe down the chain, cassette and chainring?

Before a race you want the wax job to be fresh but not too fresh (~20mi on it).

I don't clean my chains after the initial time. Just wipe them off and put them in the wax.
