This just came through my email.
Do you guys think it's worth it or would it just be a total piece of garbage?

I recently got a cheap one off of Amazon that looks exactly like this. Im assuming they are all the same and just under different brand names.
It works really damn well. Go for it.

I bought a cordless Black & Decker jigsaw and a set of massage heads for jigsaws. It came out to about $55. I don't know anything about that massager you linked, but a Black & Decker tool is fairly reliable.

if thats the same one as on amazon, avoid. POS.

its a hypervolt look-alike. i gave away my first hypervolt and decided i missed it and wanted another. i figured "eh... this amazon model is prob exactly the same as the o.g." i was completely wrong. the motor is horribly weak in comparison and the overall build quality was garbage. i turned it on for a few min and boxed it up and sent it back, then ordered another hypervolt.

I just bought a "Trigger Point" brand on amazon.ca....$200.00. A recognizable brand and a great gun. Very quite.

I'll update with the build quality, etc. but it seems to have pretty positive reviews on amazon

I bought a cheap corded massager from Amazon with changeable heads for like $30. I like that you can change the intensity with a dial. I read too many amazon reviews about those expensive ones that lose charge or don’t end up working as well over time because of internal batteries. The cord provides direct power to the massager and it’s plenty long. I don’t mind it

Forgot to include the link. Looks like the price has gone up, although it's still under $50

Good to know. My son took my Hypervolt, he needed it bad. So using my buzzing Hypersphere ball while I order/look for another. Can't seem to find a deal.

So I reviewed a cheap Tim-Tam Style massager called the Bivi, it is now $89. It was a worthy competitor to the Theragun G3. Mainly because it wasn't much louder but it was more powerful, had a swappable battery, more adjustable. I would absolutely go with it over the Theragun. With that being said the Hypervolt is just a quieter device and I would pick up the Hypervolt for that reason only. I don't feel like it is as easy to maneuver and I often find myself with a dead battery because I forget to charge it but it is significantly quieter. I should really do a dB test.

As for the knock-offs worst thing you do is you return it. Very low risk with Amazon.

I never tested cheap alternatives. I did try a friend’s Theragun and also used whatever was the top end model last year at an expo. It was nice.

Despite that, I bought a Hypervolt. I am cynical about these high priced luxury items purporting pseudo-scientific benefits, but I love the thing. It makes me appreciate how much I have neglected my soft tissue by just ignoring it after a good day’s effort.
