Cervelo P5 Headstem Spacer Slotting

Hi
Getting older and need to add a spacer or 2.
Has anyone slotted a spacer with a hacksaw rather than disconnect brakes to fit, if so any issues?

There is no way that I would slit a spacer.

Has been many times before, I don't think there is any structural integrity to that piece that you need to worry about..
