Castelli Gabba and Cold Weather Alternatives
Quote | Reply
Gearing up for fall and winter in the coming months so keeping an eye out on cold weather riding gear on closeout. I have a gabba jersey and love it but they're so dang pricey. Any alternatives others have had good luck with? Any other key pieces you've used during colder riding? I've had good luck with Castelli and Pactimo.

Void cycling have an excellent top (https://voidcycling.com/...turn=/en-se/products), and no doubt they'll release a winter ranger soon with various updates.

My favorite piece of kit for between 40 and 55F is a long sleeve thermal bontrager jersey I got on eBay new for 25 bucks. Nothing fancy but does the job.

If you want to be more cost savvy with kit, especially jerseys which aren't gross to buy slightly used like bibs, I say go eBay all the way.

I ride in the “cold” 4-5 months a year. I would never try to save 20 bucks on my winter cycling gear — instead I want the best money can buy: there is nothing worse than being cold and/or wet on a ride.

I have a Gabba and a Perfetto I think it is. Both awesome. But for very cold mornings/days can’t beat the Gabba with a thermal T-shirt underneath. Sure you pay a bit more but do get what you pay for.

I tried Gabba but did not like it, felt like rubber suit with no breath ability.
I have a Castelli TRASPARENTE that I like the most. The only problem is it is kind of short in the front, but I still love it.
